Art For Change Summer Programme is a week-long, youth-led arts programme empowering children and young people to address wellbeing and community issues through arts-based social action using the FIDS (Feel, Imagine, Do, Share) methodology. The programme brings together participants, artists, educators, youth workers, academics and community leaders for an immersive creative experience.
Across the week participants (aged 8 6 17) will explore the global Design For Change movement, develop practical artivism skills in visual arts, performance and media, collaborate to co-create an original art piece, and build confidence, leadership and teamwork through hands-on workshops. The week concludes with a closing celebration showcasing final creative projects.
The programme runs in-person at the Peter Froggatt Centre, Queen's University Belfast and is delivered in partnership with Arts Council Northern Ireland and Queen's University Belfast School of Arts, English and Languages. It also introduces participants to wider opportunities such as the global Be The Change Summit in Athens.
