Join Cavendish Nuclear as an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering Degree Apprentice based at Fleswick Court, Cumbria, supporting projects at Sellafield. Over four years you will combine on-the-job engineering experience with blended academic study delivered by the University of Lancashire, gaining hands-on exposure to design, modelling, calculations and engineering tools such as Autodesk REVIT or AutoCAD Electrical.

The programme delivers a mix of face-to-face and online teaching (semester blocks include three days of in-person delivery followed by weekly online sessions) and leads to a BEng (Hons) in Professional Engineering (Product Design) and a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship. Apprentices will be involved in product development disciplines including materials science, CAD, systems integration and prototyping and will be supported by mentors and the Apprentice Development Programme.

Benefits include a competitive apprenticeship salary (tiered across four years), a fully funded qualification, pension and share scheme, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, and opportunities to progress toward professional registration (IEng/CEng).   • Minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths, English and Science.
  • One of the following entry qualifications: 104 UCAS points from A Levels (including Maths and Physics or another STEM subject at grade C); BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in Engineering (must include Maths units); Access course: 104 points including 15 Level 3 credits in Maths and Physics or STEM at Merit; International Baccalaureate: 104 points from Higher Level subjects including Maths and Physics or STEM at HL6; T Level: Merit in an engineering T-Level discipline.
  • IELTS: 6.0 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (where applicable).
  • Must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance; nationality, place of birth or residency may affect eligibility.

Pay & Benefits

Year 1: £22,800; Year 2: £25,993; Year 3: £29,186; Year 4: £32,380. Post-apprenticeship salary: £43,343.
