Help run a monthly Saturday family drop-in for young adult hospice patients in Ipswich. Offer companionship, welcome participants and facilitate peer support, while setting up and packing away activities. You’ll receive training and can reclaim reasonable costs incurred while volunteering.
St Elizabeth Hospice is looking for volunteers to support its Zest Group Saturday Family Drop-in, a monthly activity session for young adult patients using hospice services. The role is centred on offering companionship, helping participants feel welcome, and assisting the team in running the group smoothly.
Volunteers will help facilitate peer support and engagement through an enabling approach, while also supporting the set-up and packing away of activities and events. The hospice says all volunteers receive training for the role, so you will be supported as you get started and while you volunteer.
The volunteering opportunity is based in Ipswich and involves in-person support on Saturday afternoons. The hospice also has a mileage and expenses policy, allowing volunteers to reclaim reasonable costs incurred while carrying out their duties.
