Mow, weed and plant in a community garden supporting a homelessness charity, working alongside companions and other volunteers. Bring some gardening or food-growing experience and help keep the outdoor space welcoming, with training, support and expenses reimbursement.
Emmaus Preston is looking for a Gardening Volunteer to help care for its community garden. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has green fingers, or wants to support a homelessness charity in a practical way.
Volunteers will help keep the garden in good condition and contribute to a welcoming outdoor space for the community.
Main duties include mowing the grass, weeding, planting, and general tidying of the garden areas. The charity is looking for someone with some knowledge of gardening and/or food growing, whether that comes from an allotment, home growing, or similar experience.
You will work alongside Emmaus companions and other volunteers, sharing skills and helping to develop the garden.
Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one day per week, for a four-hour session between Monday and Friday. The role is based in Preston and includes expenses reimbursement, training, ongoing support, and insurance cover. A DBS check is required, and the opportunity is suitable for under 18s.
Expenses reimbursed. Ongoing support provided. Training provided. Volunteers are covered by insurance.
Free to volunteer.
