This is a 3-year Level 4 apprenticeship with Alloyed Limited based at their Abingdon site, starting Monday 24 November 2025. As an Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprentice you will learn every stage of the metal additive manufacturing process, from component production and heat treatment to machining, surface finishing and metrology.

You will work on components for aerospace, automotive and electronics customers and be a core part of engineering and production teams.

The apprenticeship is predominantly workplace-based learning with dedicated training time. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm (40 hours per week). Training is delivered in partnership with Engineering Trust Training Limited and includes day-release study: a BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (1 day per week for 2 years), a Level 4 Diploma in Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing and functional skills where required.

An end point assessment takes place at the completion of the apprenticeship (months 36-39).

The role suits practical, detail-oriented candidates with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The employer requests GCSEs (including English, Maths and Science) or A-levels in Maths and Physics, or an existing engineering qualification.

The apprenticeship provides a route into a permanent technician role or further specialisation within engineering.
