English Literature and Creative Writing at Oxford Summer Courses is a residential/on-campus summer programme for ambitious 13-15-year-olds. Hosted in historic Oxford colleges, the course uses small seminar-style lessons (maximum 8 students) to explore classic and contemporary texts and develop students' creative writing across fiction, poetry and character work.
Sessions combine close reading, discussion, practical writing tasks and peer workshops to build clarity, style and literary understanding. The programme blends morning tutorials with afternoon directed study, peer workshops and project-based writing.
Tutors tailor lessons to the group's interests and include a masterclass on teamwork and debating plus reflection sessions to review personal goals and progress. Every student receives detailed tutor feedback, a personalised letter of recommendation and a certificate of achievement on completion.
Students stay in Oxford and take part in organised excursions and cultural activities. Accommodation options vary by tier (Non-residential, Plus, Superior, Premier) with different room and service levels; meals, activities and some transfers/insurance are included depending on the chosen package.
