Join Immerse Education’s two-week residential summer school to explore classic and contemporary texts, build advanced analysis and essay skills, receive one-to-one tutoring, and complete a personal research project that boosts your uni and writing profile.
Immerse Education's Oxford English Literature Summer School is a residential university-style programme for students aged 16-18 that explores classic and contemporary texts, literary theory, and critical analysis. Based in Oxford University colleges, the course combines small-group academic sessions with one-to-one tutoring, guided essay practice and a personal research project to develop advanced analytical and writing skills.
Participants follow an intensive two-week schedule of approximately 40 hours of teaching led by tutors from top universities, plus seminars, guest lectures and supervised independent study. The programme culminates in a graduation ceremony and awards a certificate of achievement; students may also opt in to receive 8 UCAS points (UCAS points are available only to students aged 14+ at the time of the programme).
Small class sizes (7-10) and personalised feedback are emphasised throughout.
The programme offers residential and non-residential options, stays in Oxford University colleges (e. g. , St Edmund's Hall, Balliol, Oriel), organised excursions to Cambridge and London, daily meals for residential participants, evening events, and pastoral support.
Multiple sessions run in July and August 2026 (see intake dates). Enrolment and applications are completed via the Immerse Education website.
