Explore flood and coastal risk management through interactive virtual modules on engineering, science and planning. You’ll tackle quizzes and activities, discover apprenticeships and graduate schemes, then complete a final reflection task and receive a certificate of completion.
This virtual work experience programme introduces the Environment Agency and the role it plays in protecting people, wildlife and places in England. You will learn how the organisation supports sustainable development, responds to environmental incidents, and works with partners such as Defra and the Met Office.
A key focus is flood and coastal risk management, including how science, technology and planning are used to build resilience and respond to climate change.
The programme is organised into a series of interactive modules covering the Environment Agency’s responsibilities, flood and coastal risk management, asset management and engineering, and careers linked to environment, geography and science. You will also explore early career pathways such as apprenticeships, industry placements and graduate schemes, while building employability skills like teamwork, communication, problem-solving and leadership.
Quizzes, activities and a final reflection task help you consolidate your learning, and you receive a certificate of completion at the end.
