Vaillent Equine is recruiting an Equine Groom Apprentice to join a busy yard providing full livery and training across a range of horses and riders. The role is hands-on and practical: day-to-day duties include feeding, mucking out, turning out and bringing in, bandaging and booting, washing feed bowls, changing rugs, cleaning waterers, making up haynets, basic wound care and supporting vet care.

You will work within a young, knowledgeable team and have opportunities to attend shows and away training with the yard owner.

Full training is provided by the employer and KEITS Training Services, with the apprentice working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship and an End Point Assessment (EPA) on completion. The apprenticeship runs for approximately 16 months and includes remote and on-site training consultant visits; candidates already holding a Level 2 in horse care may be considered for a Level 3 apprenticeship.

There is potential for a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship and strong links to other yards in the UK, particularly in Dressage and Eventing.

This is an on-site, full-time apprenticeship based at Vaillent Equine in Buckinghamshire. Accommodation is not provided, but your own horse is welcome to stay at the yard; training and transport to shows may be possible.

The employer expects punctual, reliable candidates who are open to learning and able to work outdoors in all weathers.
