Oak Farm Livery is recruiting an Equine Groom Apprentice to support the day-to-day care of up to 19 horses, including yearlings, ex-racehorses, ponies and competition horses. Duties include turning out and bringing in, mucking out, feeding and watering, grooming, clipping and trimming, bandaging, tacking up, lunging/long reining, and maintaining yard cleanliness.

There is opportunity to ride for the right candidate and to groom at shows.

Full training will be provided by the employer and KEITS Training Services Ltd at the place of employment. The apprentice will work towards either a Level 2 (16 months) or Level 3 (18 months) Equine Groom apprenticeship and will be supported by an industry-specific training consultant with both remote and on-site visits.

The programme includes building a portfolio of evidence and requires passing a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.

Applicants should be hardworking, friendly, attentive to detail and have some prior experience with horses. GCSEs or equivalents are desired but not essential. Future prospects include potential employment within the organisation if a position becomes available.
