A Community Ranger guides you through how terrestrial mammals and bats survive winter, from hibernation and changing diets to shifts in behaviour and seasonal migration. Join the live online session to explore how wildlife tackles cold, scarce food and harsher conditions.
Essex Wildlife Trust’s Community Ranger will guide attendees through the ways mammals cope with the toughest season of the year. The session explores the challenges wildlife faces in winter, including cold weather, limited food and harsher conditions, and explains why mammals need a range of survival strategies to get through the colder months.
The webinar looks at both terrestrial mammals and bats, covering hibernation, changes in diet and behaviour, and seasonal migration. It is an online live event and is an updated repeat of a webinar delivered previously, with donations welcomed to support Essex Wildlife Trust’s conservation work.
It is suitable for anyone with an interest in local wildlife and nature conservation.
