Hospital Estates and Maintenance Work Experience

This one-week placement with the multiskilled Estates team offers an insight into site maintenance in a busy acute hospital environment. It is designed to show how a large hospital estate is kept running day to day, and how different trades work together to support the site.

Participants may observe painters and decorators, electricians, plumbers and joiners in practice, as well as some of the Trust’s current building projects. Safety equipment is provided, and there is also the chance to spend time with the Estates Electrical Department, working alongside a skilled electrician on reactive work around the hospital.
