This two-week Pre-College Law Summer Programme at Cambridge University Colleges is designed for ambitious 13-15-year-olds seeking an introduction to university-level legal study. Held within Cambridge colleges, the course includes 30 hours of small-group tutorials (average class size 7, maximum 12) taught by academics from Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard.
Core topics include introductory Tort Law, Criminal Law, Human Rights and the UK constitutional framework, with opportunities to practise argumentation, evidence evaluation and oral presentation.
Students take part in practical sessions such as moot court exercises and a mock trial, and attend academic-skills workshops that build study, research and public-speaking abilities. The programme combines academic tuition with a structured social programme: supervised activities, excursions (including a full-day trip to Oxford University), and two formal candlelit dinners in college dining halls.
Accommodation is in single study bedrooms within Cambridge colleges (boarding) with breakfast and dinner included; day options are also available.
The programme concludes with a graduation ceremony and a tutor's detailed evaluation and certificate. Additional services include escorted Heathrow transfers (optional, A3180 each way) and comprehensive summer-school insurance.
Applicants must meet the stated age range and English language requirement.
