Want to tackle big questions at Oxford this summer? Join a two-week pre-college philosophy programme to explore new ideas, learn university-style essay writing, and build skills in argument and critical thinking - taught by experienced tutors from top universities to boost your uni-readiness.

This is a two-week pre-college summer programme in philosophy held on the University of Oxford campus for high-school students aged 16-018. The course is taught by experienced tutors (including academics who teach at universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard) and is designed to give students a first-hand insight into studying philosophy at university: exploring new material, learning university-style essay writing, and building skills to form and defend arguments.

Teaching is delivered in small classes (average of 7 students, maximum 12) and comprises approximately 30 hours of philosophy tuition across the fortnight, supported by workshops (study skills, productivity and 21st-century technology skills), a personal project with feedback, and 1:1 career coaching. Example modules include the Presocratics, Nietzsche, and Freud.

The programme concludes with a graduation ceremony, a certificate, and a tutor written evaluation.

Logistics include both day and boarding options (boarding includes 13 nights' accommodation in college, single rooms with shared bathrooms, limited ensuite options, and breakfast & dinner in College Hall). A full social and cultural programme and excursions (including an optional London trip) are provided.

Heathrow shared transfers are offered (chaperoned coaches) for an additional A3150 each way. Booking requires paying a deposit, completing an enrolment form received by email, and awaiting booking confirmation and payment of the remaining balance.
