This two-week, residential Medicine summer school at Dukes Cambridge offers 20 hours per week of medicine-focused academic study aimed at students aged 14-17. Taught by experienced tutors and medical professionals, the programme covers anatomy, physiology, pathology and principles of clinical practice through a mix of interactive seminars, practical workshops and virtual reality medical simulations.
Students build soft skills essential for healthcare careers, including empathy, communication, teamwork and professional behaviour, alongside sessions on medical ethics and patient-centred care. The course includes practical training such as basic emergency care and a certified First Aid training course, plus fieldwork and supervised visits to locations connected to medicine and healthcare.
The programme is residential at the Dukes Cambridge campus with supervised excursions in Cambridge and London and dedicated academic coaching to support university applications, personal statements and interview preparation. English language development is integrated throughout to help students present complex scientific ideas confidently.
