The Faculty of Sciences and Technology (STEM) is an in-person summer school programme for secondary students interested in STEM. Through a mix of interactive seminars, laboratory sessions, engineering projects and fieldwork, participants explore core disciplines including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and engineering.
Academic content is delivered at approximately 20 hours per week and emphasises hands-on practice alongside theory. Students work in small groups on interdisciplinary projects, applying data analysis, experimental methods and engineering design to real-world problems.
The programme includes academic coaching to support university applications, English language development (B1+ required), and culminates in a Time to Shine presentation. Participants receive a Certificate of Achievement and may request a personalised reference letter to support future applications.
Multiple start dates are offered across summer cohorts with both 2-week and 4-week options. The programme is delivered at partner sites including Cardiff Sixth Form College, St Andrew’s Cambridge and Sancton Wood School in Cambridge.
