Curious how cities change and why places feel different? Join a small-group Field Studies Council fieldwork course in Stratford to investigate urban regeneration, collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, build research skills and boost your uni or career applications.

This Field Studies Council small-group course introduces students to urban regeneration through place-based fieldwork. Participants investigate questions such as what makes a place, how places can be understood, and how different characteristics shape local identity.

The course uses a mix of qualitative and quantitative data collection so learners can compare contrasting places and draw conclusions from their evidence. The session is designed for individual students, home-educated learners, or schools with small cohorts who want an A Level-focused fieldwork experience without needing to meet a minimum group size.

It brings together students from different settings and is suitable for those who may have missed a residential trip or other field study opportunity. The course is delivered by experienced Field Studies Council staff and includes a structured day of fieldwork, discussion, and analysis.

Under-18 participants must attend with a responsible adult, while older students and adult learners are also welcome.
