Immerse Education's Film Studies Summer Programme in Oxford is a two-week, in-person academic summer school designed for students aged 16-18. The programme covers film history, critical analysis, and practical production techniques including direction, cinematography and narrative construction.
Participants take part in in-depth academic sessions led by experienced tutors, complete a personal research project, and receive 1:1 tutoring. The course delivers approximately 40 hours of teaching and culminates in a certificate of achievement.
Participants stay in Oxford University colleges (for residential options), enjoy small class sizes (7-10 students), and take part in cultural excursions including day trips to Cambridge and an optional trip to London. The programme offers an optional UCAS points add-on (8 UCAS points) for eligible students, and there are regular guest speaker sessions and a graduation ceremony.
Multiple session dates are available, including a 20 July 2025 - 2 August 2025 intake, and a range of July/August 2026 sessions.
