Florence Park Nursing & Rehab Center Volunteer Program

Florence Park Nursing & Rehab Center runs a volunteer programme that supports the facility’s mission to provide quality healthcare in the community. Volunteers take part in a wide range of activities to support residents, including visiting residents who lack strong support systems, reading aloud, playing games, assisting with arts & crafts, helping at birthday and special occasion events, taking residents for walks, supporting church services and pet visits, working in the gift shop, providing office support, teaching new skills, and helping with recreational activities such as BINGO and chair volleyball.

The programme is open to any individual age 14 and older. Florence Park states it will work with volunteers to find roles that best match each person’s talents, interests, and availability. The organisation highlights well-being benefits associated with volunteering, noting positive psychological and physical effects reported in research.
