Curious about cracking real cases? Spend three weeks at UT Austin learning DNA analysis, fingerprinting and lab procedures with Texas crime-lab experts. Join hands-on labs, build forensic skills and boost your uni/career prospects.

This three-week, on-campus summer programme at the University of Texas at Austin introduces high school students (ages 14 6) to core forensic science techniques including DNA analysis, fingerprint examination and crime lab procedures. The course emphasises hands-on laboratory exercises led by Texas crime lab forensic scientists, combining practical sessions with instructor-led demonstrations and field-linked activities.

Sessions run in summer with options for residential (boarding) or day attendance and use UT Austin facilities and local partner resources.

Participants will receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition on finishing the programme. The international programme package includes visa support and pre-arrival assistance for overseas students, transportation to/from campus for included activities, and medical insurance for international attendees.

A supplemental materials fee of $150 (USD) is required for lab consumables. To apply, students must complete the Summer Institute application; flights are not arranged by the programme and airport shuttle options may be available for an additional fee.
