Day-to-day duties include shadowing and working with a mentor and team, diagnosing faults, performing inspections and preventative maintenance, removing and replacing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components, and carrying out functional testing and quality checks.
The programme combines workplace learning with block-release training and online study. The training provider is Loughborough College (Stephenson Campus, Coalville). Apprentices will attend block weeks at college, receive off-the-job training and complete online learning with the provider while working at Toyota centres or customer sites.
The apprenticeship starts on 31 August 2026 and includes study towards an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification in Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering.
Applicants must have GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4) and ideally one of Engineering, IT or Science (grade 4). Candidates must be able to travel to the Tamworth work location; a UK driving licence is desirable.
