Foundation of Light - Work Experience at the Beacon of Light

Foundation of Light offers Year 10 students the chance to spend time alongside full-time staff at the Beacon of Light during school holiday periods. Participants will observe, assist and, where appropriate, deliver activity sessions, gaining first-hand experience of sports coaching and community sports delivery.

The placement is intended to give students insight into working in a sports and community charity environment and to develop practical coaching and teamwork skills. Opportunities are available during a range of school holiday weeks (for example: October half term, December, February half term, Easter, May half term and multiple weeks in the summer).

To apply, parents/carers should register interest via the form on the Foundation of Light website; a member of staff will contact applicants in due course. Places are limited and not all requests can be accepted, so students should check with their school in advance if the placement needs to replace their school’s designated work experience week.
