Apply NowGot an hour to write something real? Join a free evening online workshop on 'Doors'—explore prompts, build scenes, and get words on the page with practical exercises that sharpen character, plot and setting. Come ready to write and leave with fresh ideas.
A free, online creative writing workshop aimed at absolute beginners and writers wanting structured time to develop ideas. The session uses the theme "Doors" to prompt warm-up exercises, short free writing and a chance to build a more structured scene.
The host encourages attendees to come ready to write and aims to help participants get words on the page rather than deliver a lecture. The one-hour workshop includes practical exercises exploring characters, plot, objects and setting, with techniques useful across many prose genres (literary, crime, fantasy, YA, romance, historical and more).
Participants are not required to share work during the session, and the tutor provides a supportive environment to overcome blocks and generate material to develop afterwards. This is an online event organised by Creative Writing Podcast.
If places are full, attendees are invited to join the waitlist. The host teaches a range of creative writing courses and also works with young people in educational contexts.
