The Future Scientists programme at Eton College is a residential summer school for students aged 12-6. Participants take part in an immersive STEM programme combining workshops, laboratory sessions and group projects.
Academic learning is delivered as 18 hours of science-focused content per week, covering biology, chemistry and physics alongside practical experimentation and data analysis. Students work collaboratively on 'Time to Shine' projects and present their findings at an end-of-week ceremony.
The course includes modules on life and living systems, matter/reactions and energy, and earth/space scientific frontiers, with additional sessions introducing robotics, coding, environmental science and applied mathematics. The programme also features excursions (examples listed include Thorpe Park, London and Oxford) and a social programme of sports, arts and evening activities to build teamwork and confidence.
At the end of the course participants receive a personalised end-of-course report and a certificate of achievement. The programme is delivered on-campus at Eton College, a world-famous English boarding school, and is co-educational.
