Future Scientists (STEM) at Canford (Summer Boarding Courses)

Future Scientists (STEM) at Canford is an in-person summer school designed for curious learners aged 11-9-16 (page lists ages 11AD16). Across the programme you study biology, chemistry and physics through practical experiments, observation and analysis.

Teaching is led by educators with science backgrounds and the course emphasises designing investigations, collecting and interpreting data, and presenting results clearly.

The programme is offered as short residential options (2, 3 or 4 weeks) and combines individual and collaborative work. Students take part in hands-on modules (Life and Living Systems; Matter, Motion and Energy; Space and Earth), group challenges and the weekly 'Time to Shine' project where they present their work.

The course also includes excursions to well-known UK locations and a varied social programme including sports and creative activities.

All materials for experiments are provided. Classes are kept small (maximum class size 15). At the end of the programme each student receives a personalised end-of-course report and a certificate of achievement to recognise progress and skills developed.
