Help people living with sight loss use smartphones, tablets and computers through drop-in days, courses and demo events. Explore accessible apps, online safety and everyday services, while showing people how to use magnification, audio support and voice assistants.
Galloways is looking for Digital Inclusion Champions to support the delivery of its Assistive Technology service across its sites and in the community. Volunteers help people living with sight loss discover and use accessible, mainstream technology in ways that improve confidence, independence and everyday life.
The role includes supporting technology drop-in days, helping with smart phones, tablets, computers and assistive software, and showing people how to get the most from email, internet browsing, social media, audiobooks, music and video services, specialist apps, and online safety tools. Volunteers also help people use accessibility features such as magnification, audio support and voice assistants.
You may also support technology courses, workshops and demo events, as well as carry out basic troubleshooting and problem solving. No experience is required, but the organisation is looking for kind, friendly, considerate volunteers who are interested in technology and comfortable working with people.
Ongoing support and training are provided.
Expenses reimbursed for transport / mileage.
