Spend one to two weeks with Gardiner & Theobald's surveyors and project managers, seeing real construction projects and building your communication and teamwork skills. Placements run all year round.
Gardiner & Theobald offers a range of placements designed to help students connect what they have learned in study with the realities of working life. The programme is intended for people at different stages of education and gives them the chance to build practical business skills while gaining a clearer sense of the construction industry.
Industrial placements are available for individuals studying a sandwich degree on a construction-related course. These run for a 12 month placement year and mirror the work of graduates, with the same responsibilities and the same types of projects.
Participants also join the Year 1 cohort of the Chartership Programme and become student members of the RICS, with continued support through their final year and on towards the APC.
Summer placements are aimed at those considering a career in construction and typically last two to three months. Work experience placements are available year round for people who want first-hand knowledge of the construction industry and usually last one to two weeks.
Across all options, participants can work with qualified surveyors or project managers, gain insight into real projects, and develop communication, planning, organisation and teamwork skills.
