Curious about Cambridge study? Join Girton College’s taster days, masterclasses and webinars to explore subjects you love, meet students and staff, build your personal statement and boost uni applications. Book now to experience lectures, tours and live Q&A.

Girton College's outreach programme offers a mix of in-person taster days, online masterclasses, webinars and short programmes designed for secondary school students and teachers. The college runs subject-specific taster days (for example Biological Natural Sciences, Philosophy & TRPR, Classics/Archaeology/ASNaC, Human, Social & Political Sciences) that run 10:00–16:00 and include admissions talks, taster lectures, college tours, student Q&A and personal-statement workshops.

Booking for many Girton taster days opens the week beginning 5 January 2026 with decisions communicated the week beginning 2 February 2026. In addition to one-day taster events, Girton promotes and links to a wider set of University of Cambridge programmes: online webinar series (Applicant Support Programme), the Young Researchers online super-curricular projects for Year 10 state-school students, humanities writing competitions for Year 12, Target Oxbridge and the Exploring Law Conference (residential conference with a mix of fully funded and self-funded places).

Support measures such as reimbursements for public transport (for eligible state-school applicants) and coach-travel contributions for some school-collaboration days are provided where stated. How to apply and further details are available via the links on the Girton outreach pages; teachers can nominate students for many events and queries can be sent to access@girton.
