Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS) is a residential summer programme on Gordonstoun's 200-acre woodland campus for younger students. The programme runs two-week junior courses (ages 8-11) and three-week senior courses (ages 11-16) offering a mix of academic study options alongside sports, drama, creative arts, cultural visits and social activities.
Each programme includes a multi-day outdoor adventure residential (Cairngorm mountains for juniors; West Coast of Scotland for seniors) and a range of optional activities such as sailing, canoeing, rock climbing and more. Study options cover English as an Additional Language (EAL), Literature & Creative Writing (senior), Computing (programming, PC building, cyber security, robotics), Junior Science, International Citizenship, Social Enterprise & Entrepreneurship (senior) and creative subjects including art, design and music.
The school provides tailored classes (CEFR used for EAL placement) and aims to develop confidence, teamwork and practical skills through a structured, activity-packed timetable. Courses are residential and all-inclusive: the stated fees cover accommodation, meals, tuition, activities, trips, laundry, 24-hour healthcare and airport transfers from Aberdeen or Inverness.
A free online "Taste of Summer School" webinar (16 March 2026) is offered to meet staff and learn more about a typical day; booking and course registration are handled via the Gordonstoun website (and the webinar via the provided Zoom registration link).
