Guildhall School of Music & Drama runs a two-week residential drama summer school at Freemen's School in Surrey designed for young people passionate about acting and theatre-making. The residential format encourages focused creative exploration and ensemble building, with participants working in one of three strands: devised theatre, site-specific work, or modern text work, each supported by a dedicated course tutor.
Participants take part in daily project work alongside core technique sessions in voice, movement, improvisation and Shakespeare. Groups may be organised by age to provide appropriate challenge, and the course culminates in an open rehearsal sharing for friends and family.
Accommodation is provided on-site in pods with single and double rooms; meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are included according to the published schedule.
The programme is open to all experience levels aged 13-17, welcomes international participants, and is suitable for those exploring theatre as a serious interest or potential career path. Booking is via the Guildhall online booking links, and the course is residential only.
