Resolume for Live Events is a new online six-week short course from Guildhall School of Music & Drama. It introduces the fundamentals of working with Resolume Avenue/Arena software, showing participants how to trigger, blend and manipulate video for live events and content creation.
Across the course, learners explore live video history, the Resolume interface and project structure, and how to build a custom VJ project from scratch. The course also covers timelines, modulation, MIDI mapping, video effects, generative sources, audio reactivity, blending and mixing techniques.
It is designed for anyone aged 18+ who wants to create a live video performance system, with particular value for people looking to build audiovisual shows, accompany bands or DJs, or strengthen their professional video skillset. No prior VJ or video production experience is required, although a basic understanding of video is helpful.
The course is taught online on Tuesday evenings and is especially relevant to videographers, music producers, graphic designers, DJs, video technicians and audiovisual artists who want hands-on experience with industry-standard live visuals software.
