Fancy playing in a high-level youth orchestra? Join intensive orchestral training at Guildhall’s Norfolk Autumn course — build technical and ensemble skills, tackle varied repertoire, perform with expert leaders and secure a placement that matches your level. Boost your musicianship and stage experience.

Deadline in 8 days

Norfolk County Youth Orchestra’s Autumn Course offers advanced young musicians a chance to take part in intensive orchestral training and ensemble playing under experienced musical leadership. The course is designed for players in the Springboard and Senior Orchestra groups, with placements based on playing ability.

Participants work on a wide range of repertoire, strengthen their technical and ensemble skills, and gain experience performing as part of a high-level youth orchestra. Across the course, students rehearse with conductors and soloists, develop leadership, teamwork, and confidence, and meet other young musicians from across Norfolk and beyond.

The programme builds towards a public concert at the end of the course, giving participants the opportunity to perform in a formal setting and share their work with an audience. The course is residential, with accommodation and meals provided, although a day option is available for those who do not wish to stay overnight.

Sessions take place at venues in Norwich, and the concert is held at St Peter Mancroft. It is a supportive but demanding opportunity for young musicians who are ready for a more advanced orchestral experience.
