Perform, improvise and take creative risks in a weekly course curated by jazz pianist and educator Nikki Yeoh. Build technique and confidence through ability-based ensemble sessions, learning from professional musicians at Music Centre South.

Jazz and Beyond is a weekly music-centre course curated by jazz pianist and educator Nikki Yeoh for young musicians who want to deepen their understanding of jazz and other musical genres. Each session gives participants the chance to perform, take creative risks, make mistakes and build confidence through improvisation and ensemble playing.

The programme combines a focused group workshop with an ensemble session allocated by ability, helping students strengthen instrumental technique, musicianship and their appreciation of jazz. Participants learn from professional musicians on the scene, and the course takes place at Music Centre South, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School on Mondays.

Fees per term: £226 for students who live or go to a state school in Islington, £268 for everyone else. Children eligible for Pupil Premium can apply for a full bursary.
