The Guildhall Young Artists National Brass Competition 2026 gives young brass players the opportunity to perform a slow melody for an expert panel of adjudicators and take part in workshops throughout the day. Entrants perform individually and also participate in workshops leading to a culminating group performance, with a Results & Prize Giving Ceremony held at 15:00 in Milton Court Concert Hall (friends and family may attend without booking).
The event is aimed at school-aged brass players with a minimum standard of Grade 3. Categories are organised by school year groups (Year 7 and under; Years 8-10; Years 11-14 including gap-year students), and the competition accepts students aged 9-18 (with gap-year 19-year-olds eligible).
Doors open at 09:30 and the competition runs from 10:00 to 16:00 on Sunday 19 April 2026 at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London. To take part, applicants should click 'Book Now' on the event page and select the category they wish to enter.
Applications close on Tuesday 31 March 2026 or earlier if capacity is reached; applicants should review the full terms and provide any access requirements so the organisers can attempt to accommodate them.
