HackSoc HackNotts '26

HackNotts is HackSoc’s annual student hackathon at the University of Nottingham. It brings together students and recent graduates for a two-day overnight event where participants build a project over a 24-hour hacking period.

The event is designed to be friendly and welcoming, whether you are completely new to hackathons or already have plenty of experience. Participants can form teams or join one on the day, with a maximum team size of four.

Any idea is welcome, and the weekend is structured to support a wide range of interests and skills, from coding and hardware to design, music, and other creative contributions. Alongside hacking, there are workshops, activities, games, and opportunities to meet other attendees.

Food and drinks are provided free of charge throughout the event, and winners receive prizes at the closing ceremony. Overall, HackNotts is a collaborative, beginner-friendly hackathon focused on building something exciting, learning new skills, and enjoying the experience with other students.
