Want to demystify hedge funds and private equity on Dartmouth’s campus? Join a hands-on summer seminar to explore investments, run simulations, learn from guest speakers and build a capstone project — gain real finance skills to boost uni and career choices.

CLOSED THIS CYCLE

This Dartmouth Summer Scholars seminar introduces ambitious high school students to finance and investment with a mix of foundational theory and applied practice. Hosted on Dartmouth College's campus, the program covers savings and investment fundamentals, compounding, diversification, risk and return, and explores alternative investment areas including private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds.

Students learn through case studies, simulations, guest speaker sessions, and a capstone mini-project. Participants engage in hands-on activities such as an investment simulation, case study discussions, role-play negotiations, concept-mapping workshops, and a capstone pitch of a mock private equity or hedge fund strategy.

The program offers real-world exposure via Q&A with Dartmouth alumni, Tuck Business School faculty, and finance professionals. Completing students receive a branded Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition to enhance academic portfolios.

The seminar runs as a residential on-campus program with structured supervision, 24/7 support, and arranged campus activities. International students receive visa support, arrival/departure assistance, and medical insurance as part of international program services.

Applicants should meet the stated GPA recommendation and complete the Summer Institute application including short-answer responses.
