Heeley City Farm
Apply NowFancy hands-on experience that actually counts? Join Heeley City Farm volunteering to grow food, run the café, help conservation and build practical skills. Connect with the community, boost your CV and explore career or uni paths while learning on the farm.
Heeley City Farm runs a broad volunteering and training programme offering hands-on community, conservation and farm-based roles. Volunteering is available across food growing, garden centre activities, site maintenance, café (Farm Kitchen) duties, reception/administration and community programmes.
The farm is open to volunteers aged 8 and above, with several roles specifically for those aged 16+ and some roles restricted to 18+. There are targeted youth opportunities including an Ages 16-24 volunteer group (weekly sessions every Friday 10:00-14:00, noted as starting 22nd November) and new Monday youth sessions.
The site also offers a Free Conservation Course which provides a City & Guilds qualification and is promoted as a CV-building training opportunity (noted as starting Jan 22nd). Animal volunteering places are limited and carry approximately a one-year waiting list, with occasional specialised animal volunteer days during school holidays.
To apply, interested people should complete the online application form or contact the farm for more information. Because the team is small, there is often a waiting list and applicants are asked to be patient while positions become available.
City & Guilds qualification (for the Free Conservation Course)
Unpaid volunteer roles. Training and accreditation opportunities are offered (e.g., a Free Conservation Course awarding a City & Guilds qualification).
