Help deliver community workshops, guided walks, outreach events and creative art sessions that connect people with Herefordshire’s waterways and wetlands. Work with the team to engage people of all ages, share the project’s message and gather feedback to shape future activities.
Volunteers will support the River City team in delivering events, activities and workshops that help establish Hereford as a ‘river city’, where nature thrives within the network of waterways and surrounding wetland areas. The project focuses on restoring habitats for wildlife, uncovering and sharing the history of the waterways, and connecting people of all ages to these natural environments.
The role involves helping with a range of community engagement activities, including educational workshops, guided walks, outreach events, mental health and wellbeing activities, and creative art sessions. Volunteers will work with the team to create positive experiences that bring people closer to nature, share the River City message, encourage involvement, and gather feedback from participants to help improve future activities.
The position is in development, so the exact activities may vary as the project grows. It is a good opportunity for friendly, enthusiastic people who enjoy engaging with others and working as part of a team, including alongside children and young people.
Free volunteering opportunity.
