Join a hands-on team caring for a country park’s buildings and grounds: repair fencing, put up signs, paint, clear gutters and help fix the playground. DIY experience helps, but it isn’t essential.
Herefordshire Wildlife Trust is looking for volunteers to join the Queenswood repair and maintenance team. This practical role helps care for the buildings and grounds of the Country Park and supports visitors to have the best possible experience.
It is a hands-on opportunity for people who enjoy outdoor, varied work and want to contribute to an important local green space.
Typical tasks can include repairing fencing, putting up signage, shop alterations, painting, clearing guttering and carrying out playground repairs. The work is described as rewarding and fun, and the team is looking for volunteers who can bring flexibility, humour and energy to the role.
The commitment is three hours a week on a Monday afternoon, from 1pm to 4pm. Some DIY experience would be extremely helpful, although it is not essential. Interested volunteers are invited to email Tricia Doree to find out more.
Sessions run weekly
