Heritage Volkswagen Yeovil - Service Technician Apprenticeship

This is a full-time, employer-hosted Level 3 apprenticeship with Heritage Volkswagen Yeovil to train as a Service Technician/Mechanic. You will spend most of your time working on the job at the Mead Avenue workshop learning routine servicing, diagnostic testing, repair and maintenance of vehicle systems (including traditional, hybrid and electric technologies).

Daily duties include using diagnostic equipment, testing parts and systems, following inspection checklists, and completing accurate paperwork.

The apprenticeship combines workplace learning with off-the-job training delivered by INSPIRO LEARNING LIMITED, including virtual classrooms and face-to-face block release weeks at a national training centre. The role is a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri 08:30-17:30 with possible Saturdays/shifts) and runs for three years.

On successful completion you will gain the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle), a Certificate in Automotive Refrigerant Handling and brand certifications.

The programme is targeted at post-GCSE applicants and school leavers. The advertised entry requirements are GCSEs: English, Maths and Science at grade 4/C. Applications are made via GOV.
