Join Herts Disability Sports Foundation as a Bike Mechanic Apprentice and Assistant Instructor. This 18-month apprenticeship combines workshop-based bicycle mechanical training with practical delivery experience supporting a range of physical activity sessions.
You will learn alongside qualified bike mechanics and receive formal tuition from Activate Learning while practicing skills in HDSF workshops.
The role is 30 hours per week, based primarily in Baldock with additional activity from a base in Welwyn Garden City. Duties include maintaining and repairing bicycles in the workshop and supporting delivery of sessions such as boxercise, bellboating, cycling and outdoor fitness.
Training and supervision will be provided for both the mechanical and instructor elements.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and able to travel to the stated locations. The apprenticeship pays the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices (A37. 55 per hour in the first year).
