Join Hunter Vehicles as an HGV Mechanic Apprentice based in Bedford, working on the service and repair of commercial vehicles of all sizes. Most of your time will be on the job performing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs, pre-MOT/DVSA inspections and maintaining records in line with company and legislative requirements.
The role is full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00, based at Arkwright Industrial Estate, Bedford (MK42 0LE).
The apprenticeship includes day-release study with Harlow College: one day a week at college and four days in the workplace over a 36-month programme. Training covers the technical certificate (knowledge), practical competence assessments in the workplace, functional skills (English and IT if required), and transferable/employment rights skills.
Course elements include IMI NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and the industry-standard Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Level 3) qualification.
