High School: CSI: Forensic Science for High Schoolers at UCLA

This is a three-week, hands-on forensic science summer program hosted on the UCLA campus as part of the UCLA Summer Institute. Students receive practical training in crime scene investigation techniques, evidence discovery and preservation, fingerprint and fiber analysis, crime scene diagramming, sketching and photography, and more complex evidence topics such as firearms, arson, and explosives.

The program emphasises real-world skills, portfolio building and professional practices including chain of custody.

Residential (boarding) and day options are available. Tuition for residential programs includes academic tuition, housing, two meals per day (lunch and dinner), excursions, campus facilities access, and on-campus supervision.

Students receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition; credit-bearing classes provide grade reports and transcript instructions where applicable. International students receive visa support, arrival assistance, shuttle transportation options (additional fee possible), and international medical/health insurance as described.

Applicants must complete the Summer Institute application and demonstrate a keen interest in forensics. A supplemental lab materials fee of $95 (USD) is required. The program offers structured supervision, campus safety measures, and a full schedule of academic sessions and extracurricular activities to provide both enrichment and college-prep experience.
