Highwater Farm's Summer Youth Program hires Youth Crew Workers for a paid, hands-on internship where participants plant, maintain, harvest, package, and sell fresh local produce while learning job, life, and agricultural skills. The role includes use of hand tools (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows), participation in team activities, educational workshops, and community events.
Youth Crew Workers receive on-site job training and education, and are paid $15 per hour. Fresh produce is provided on designated days.
The program runs for a full 7-week session (exact dates to be determined) and meets Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Participants are expected to attend every scheduled day, arrive on time, and engage respectfully with staff and peers.
No prior farming experience is required; Youth Crew Workers are supported by the Youth Program Coordinator and work on building skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, land management, and critical thinking.
Applications for summer 2026 will go live on this page in January 2026. Interested applicants can fill out the interest form on the site to receive updates or contact the program coordinator at becca@highwaterfarm.org for questions.
