Want hands-on skills that kickstart your career? Join the Highways Skills Academy to train with Gloucestershire County Council and industry partners, gain practical experience on road projects, build technical skills and unlock apprenticeships and progression across highways engineering.

The Highways Skills Academy, led by Gloucestershire County Council in partnership with Ringway, WSP, Tarmac and M Group, offers a wide range of apprenticeship and progression opportunities across Gloucestershire Highways. Participants gain training and practical experience working on road and footpath maintenance, major projects, road safety improvements and highway drainage, among other highways functions.

Apprentices are trained across multiple functions and with delivery partners, with pathways spanning Level 2 (GCSE level) up to Level 7 (Master's level). The academy aims to provide entry and progression routes for people from all backgrounds and levels of experience, and showcases real-world apprentices' experiences through case studies and events.

For enquiries or to submit a CV, applicants should email Highways@gloucestershire.gov.uk. Apprenticeship vacancies and other job opportunities are advertised by the council when available.
