The Historical Association - The Edge of Revolution: the General Strike that shook Britain

Dr David Torrance presents a lecture exploring the General Strike and its wider significance in British history. Drawing on his recent study of the subject, he examines the political tension, public response and historical impact of a major moment of industrial action that shook the country.

The event is hosted by the Historical Association’s Chichester branch and takes place at Friends Meeting House in Priory Road. It will suit anyone with an interest in modern British history, politics or social change, and offers the chance to hear directly from a House of Commons librarian and established writer on the topic.
