HOB Salons
Apply NowFancy turning your passion for hair into a paid career? Join HOB Salons' apprenticeship: work in-salon four days, train one day, gain hands-on experience with live models, earn while you learn and graduate with a Level 2 Diploma to kickstart your salon career.
The HOB Salons Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a paid vocational programme designed for people aged 16 and over who want to begin a career in hairdressing. Apprentices work in a HOB salon four days per week (including at least one evening session working on live models) and attend one training centre day each week where theoretical and practical course elements are taught.
You will complete industry-standard training and graduate with a Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals. The programme typically takes up to two years (about 18-21 months of training followed by a period preparing for the External End Point Assessment).
No prior hairdressing experience is required; while GCSEs in English and Maths (grade D/3 or above) are ideal, extra training is provided within the apprenticeship if you do not hold these qualifications.
HOB Salons operate 16 locations across London, Essex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and will match apprentices to a convenient salon based on vacancies and travel options. Apprentices are paid the National Apprenticeship Wage.
Successful apprentices may progress to HOB's 6-month Graduate Programme for further development into stylist or colour technician roles. To apply, email careers@hobsalons. com to arrange an interview and trial day.
