Horticulture and Landscape Apprenticeship

This is a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape apprenticeship with Peter Ashley Ltd based at Heywood Distribution Park, Rochdale. You will work as a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice with the Heywood team, learning a wide range of horticulture and landscaping skills while spending most of your time on the job.

The role includes grass cutting, hedge cutting, planting and maintaining bedding schemes, pruning, weed control, basic repairs, litter picking and other grounds maintenance tasks.

You will be employed Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week) and the apprenticeship runs for 2 years with training provided by The Oldham College. Off-the-job training includes the Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship Standard Level 2, English and maths functional skills, emergency first aid and Pesticides Level 2.

The apprenticeship is intended to lead to occupation-relevant skills and there is an anticipated full-time position available for the right candidate on successful completion.
