Ready to make films, audio and theatre with a youth-led team? Join Hothouse Theatre’s free in-person summer school in Nottingham to build projects from scratch, lead productions, and boost creative skills, experience and uni/career-ready work.
Hothouse Theatre’s Summer School is a free, in-person youth project for young people aged 10 to 18 in the Nottingham area. It brings together filmmaking, audio projects and drama, giving participants a chance to work creatively with others and build projects from the ground up.
The project has been running for around 15 years and is described as a youth-led experience, with young people in control of the activities they undertake. Participants are involved in all aspects of the productions and reports, which makes it a hands-on opportunity for anyone interested in making films, creating audio content, or exploring performance and storytelling.
The summer school takes place across several Thursday sessions in August, including one trip-out session. It is held in person at Bakersfield Community Centre in Nottingham. All sessions are free, but booking is essential and places are limited.
