Sizewell C
Apply NowWant to build the backbone of Britain? Join Sizewell C’s formworker apprenticeship to learn on-site, gain an NVQ Level 2, master precision carpentry and concrete shaping, and fast-track a skilled construction career working on real infrastructure.
Formworkers create the temporary moulds (formwork) used to shape concrete structures. At Sizewell C, formworkers use materials such as timber, metal and plastic to support walls, floors and bridges and must be physically fit, safety-conscious and able to follow precise instructions while working on site.
One of the main training routes is an apprenticeship where you learn on the job while working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Formwork. Typical entry requirements listed by Sizewell C include a Level 2 Formworking Apprenticeship or a Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship and GCSEs in Maths and English (Level 1 or 2).
The page emphasises hands-on experience, manual handling, attention to detail and problem solving as core skills.
Sizewell C partners with colleges and training centres across the UK (for example City College Norwich, Colchester Institute, University of Suffolk, University of East Anglia and West Suffolk College) to deliver training. The site highlights career progression into supervisory roles, specialisms such as carpentry and joinery, and opportunities to work on major projects nationally and internationally.
Young people are encouraged to register with the Young SZC programme to be notified of apprenticeship opportunities.
